“Music imitates life and life imitates music”. — Ingrid Caven
Music is like yoga, it makes us happy and helps in keeping hormonal balance in the body, relief our body and mind and thus keeps us physically and mentally healthy Music is an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythms, melody, harmony, and color.

This is by far my best definition of music. (www.dictionary.com) music has been around for a long time so I won’t go into the details of its history.
There are different forms/genres of music, some have emerged in recent times and there are still more to be discovered. As individuals, we have specific genres that appeal to us.

Today, I’m grateful for music! Yes. I am.
During these times when almost everyone has to find ways to stay positive, focused, or creative, music can take a lot of credit. I particularly can testify to this. Like how do you deal without listening to at least one son a day?
While we are waiting for your answer if you deal,
Music just has this way of uplifting the soul. My Father sure knows what is good and that is why he loves music.
I first got a formal education about music in secondary school. I can’t start giving the details now though.

A piece of particular experience music played a major role in my life was in 2017. I was preparing for my final exams, It was emotional on different levels and I couldn’t talk to anyone about my fears. I played a particular song over and over that it was almost a crime (lol). Oceans by Hillsong is the title, I experienced calmness on another level every time I listen to it.

I am still grateful to my friend that shared that song every day. I am a lover of gospel music by the way. When I listen to gospel songs, it brings an amazing feeling in the heart and mind that connects the spirit to the supernatural power of God.

Fun Fact

  • Music can help boost your memory. I once read that in nursing homes, musical therapy is used to enable the elderly to remember things of their past, which they couldn’t.

Practical Application

  • You know how some memories just play in your mind when you hear a particular song? This happens more for positive memories from childhood. It creates an ambiance and adds up to the experience of what we are doing. You should try playing something everytime you feel low.

Overall, is a universal language, it unites the world. Music connects people from different backgrounds irrespective of dialet, color, class, ethnicity, location.

So my all-time favorite song has to be “I Was Here” by Beyoncé (It appeals to me at all times too). I have a large playlist (I mean it) cause a lpt of songs appeal to me different times. Gospel, Hip Hop, Afrobeat, R&B are my top genre.

Let me know your all-time favourite song (if you have) in the comment session.
